Description
This is a stylised bronze sculpture of a young man facing a Male African Kudu Buck.
Sculpted after a visit to the Kruger Park in South Africa now in its 100th year of official existence.
I have 2 out of 3 children who have migrated to Europe in order to find a better career and more secure lifestyle.
I personally ache at the thought of leaving Africa and experience a deep homesickness at the thought of my children no longer living under African skies.
My son is a 'young buck' finding his way in the world, and i do so hope he will come back one day to be in the land of the beautiful Kudu Buck.
Karen Blixen in her novel 'Out of Africa' returned to Denmark after many years in Kenya, and in her poem , asked if Africa would remember her?
Hence the title of the work 'Remember Me'.
